The Independent on Sunday hailed Roberts & Lakeman as “English Folk’s Buckingham-Nicks” – high praise indeed for two of the British folk scene’s most accomplished performers. Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman have graced stages the world over in a number of guises, however, the intimacy and strength of passion as a duo, combined with an eclectic repertoire ensures a rare summer treat for us at Prema. With a story that includes music making with the likes of Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon, Kate Rusby and Show of Hands, Roberts and Lakeman have been lynchpins of the UK’s burgeoning folk-acoustic revival over the last two decades – but a case, perhaps, of “always the bridesmaid and never the bride”. Now, at last, it’s their turn to burst out from the shadows to make a big noise in thei own right. Don’t miss a great night out – book now!
The Odd Folk

Meet
The Odd Folk - a dazzling and quirkily offbeat crew of
multi-instrumentalists from the South West. Their sound is shaped by
many musical influences (including country, folk and Cajun) and
accompanied on a broad array of instruments. Here we have a
foot-stompin', free wheelin' quintet playing their own brand of
"triumphant folk". This "passionately ramshackle" squad has been touring
up and down the country in their old Renault 4 (much to the amusement
and enjoyment of the crowds). Equally at home on a main stage or the
corner of an old barn, the boys always deliver a fine evening of gutsy
music, delivered with gusto and flair; helping the Odd Folk accomplish
their goal - to make people smile and bounce! Come tigger about, tap
your feet and drink in the heady beat and sumptuous sounds from The Odd
Folk (who actually really aren’t that odd at all).
